Ebay item 10/18/04 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $2,700, no reserve, 1 bid, 4 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
1969 4.2 Series II coupe with manual trans, factory air, wire wheels NO RESERVE
Car # 1R40284
Body # 4R35316
Engine # 7R35496-9
Trans # KJS915
This is an excellent southwest original car that could be finished the way you want it. The car suffered damage to the front / left portion of the hood /fender area. The metal was professionally worked back to the proper shape and dimensions with only the final metalwork remaining. The entire front unit has just been chemically dipped, stripped and coated with PPG DP90 primer. The metal work was accomplished without grinding so the full metal thickness remains for the final metal work.
The car was last licensed in '82. The engine started with starting fluid and produced proper oil pressure. The water pump is inoperative and the radiator appears to need a leak repaired in the lower corner.
The car is a good southwest original car without rust problems. The usual rust areas ( sill box under doors, rear seams under trunk, rear jack support areas) are solid. The main body is good with minor dings, scrapes only. The car was stored without the battery so the battery box area is also clean. The passenger door opens only from the inside.
The loose parts should shown complete the front end. Both curved bumpers and one bumperette are present but the single center bumper piece and one bumperette is missing. The original lucas lights and all of the lighting components are there and intact. All inner sheetmetal appears to be here with bolts, etc. The left air duct was damaged on front end but has been reformed Two new chrome fender welts are included. The underside of the car is very clean- no jack damage on the picture frame.
Included is the original Leyland radio. The car sits on Dunlop Formula 700 tires.
This is an increasingly rare opportunity to obtain a southwest E type to build. Shipping to the Port of Houston from Arlington is about $ 300.
The car is a 2+2 (someone asked) The car is green over the original beige. It was probably resprayed early in its life as the green is thin and was applied directly on the original color (no thick primer, etc) The car was inspected on a rack by experienced Jag people that said it was rust free. The original beige paint is still present at all of the seams in the areas discussed. The outer sills are tinny with no indication of filler and the inner sides all show original paint/finish when the carpet and vinyl are both pulled back. The underside of the car is clean with just minor indentations from jacks at the four jack points.

Sellers description.
1969 XKE Coupe. This is a 4 speed air car which ran and drove when it was put in storage. The bonnet to this car goes with the sale but is not pictured. The bonnet was damaged prior to our purchasing but we have since straightend it and it is a good usable nose. This is absoultly one of most rust free coupes I have ever seen and we build hundreds of these cars. This car is sold as is most all parts are there if any thing is missing it is very minor.
