Ebay item 8/12/08
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-xke-1969-JAGUAR-XKE-E-TYPE-TRUE-2-SEATER-C ...
Current bid $9,078, 5 bids, 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
Gorgeous 1969 Jaguar XKE coupe in Primrose Yellow over black leather. This car is in very good to excellent condition throughout.

Here are the details:
I am the fourth owner of this e-type, and have receipts and paperwork dating back to 1983, as well as books, such as original workshop manuals, and records, such as original registrations. In 2004, at 65,000+ miles, the third owner executed a complete frame-up restoration which included removing the engine and transaxle for a complete rebuild top to bottom and new clutch installed. During the rebuild the car was stripped and painted correct Primrose ( the car was always Primrose.). With the engine out, the subframe was also painted, a feature which I see less and less often with "restored" e-types, the owner instead choosing to avoid repainting the subframe. Even the inside of the bonnet was repainted. I was always impressed that this car was done right! Most seals, glass, chrome (including the correct wire wheels) and trim were replaced at this time, a new interior was installed, and a full front to back stainless steel exhaust system was installed. It looks as if all suspension components were replaced at this time. Furthermore, the third owner had an aluminum custom gas tank built, and installed an electric fuel pump. The undercarriage is very solid with no rust through. All in all, less than 1500 miles have been logged on the car since. I had the brakes rebuilt about a month ago, so there are only test miles on those. The differential is in great shape with none of the typical "whining". VIN is stamped on the Frame. Clear title. I truly hate to sell, but a red '64 has become available through my local Jaguar club, so I'm going to make the move.

This is a very tight rust and accident- free 2-seater xke coupe which runs out very, very well. It starts every time with a halfway pull of the choke and a turn of the key. No smoke or leaks, and great compression and oil pressure. The rebuilt carbs and motor are very much dialed in, and the Jaguar is reliable, fast, and FUN to drive, has no immediate needs, and will offer its new owner many more years of spirited driving fun.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
