Sellers description:
1969 JAGUAR E-TYPE 4.2 LITRE ROADSTER ID# 1R20188 What can be said about the Jaguar E-Type that has not already been said. Not since the launch of their XK 120 had the World seen such phenomenal beauty and power in a motorcar. The E-Type or XKE as it was known over here was the ‘must have’ car of the sixties and it was not surprising, 141 miles per hour, 0 – 100 miles per hour in just 17 seconds and all for under £2,000. This was less than half the price of its performance stable mates. This particular example was restored by a Jaguar specialist in the United Kingdom adhering rigidly to the original specification. So exacting was the restoration that to sit in it today and to fire up that 4.2 litre Straight Six 265 bhp engine is to turn back the clocks thirty-four years.

Paul,
It is listed and numbered as a coupe, how and when did it become a roaster ? a very nice roadster.

John,
Don't know about the iffy VIN. The car has been documented by the seller with that VIN for at least a year and is currently (6/06) listed in Hemmings, same seller, location and description. If I were a potential buyer I'd very carefully inspect this car and its associated numbers. There is a problem.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
