Sellers description:
1970 Jaguar XKE series II with a 4.2 liter 6 cylinder 4 speed. This car belongs to my Dad who began a complete restoration on the car in 1998. The car was taken appart and repainted throughout. After painting the process began of inspecting all the parts and replacing any that looked questionable. This process has really never ended as my Dad continued, until recently, to make the car more "correct" (in the view of Jaguar judges) or improve it's performance. The paint was finished five years ago and the car has always been garaged. All the rubber and seals were done with the paint. New parts include: Interior leather, seats, convertible top, SU polished carbs and manifold, Davis Racing Radiator, Spax shocks, Koker Classic redline tires, Stainless steel exhaust, starter, water pump, alternator, fuel pump, fuel filter, Plug wires, plugs, distributor, cap, rotor points, battery. The car is driven very little except to shows and the occasional sunny day. My dad's health forces him to sell or I'm sure he would not part with it.
Vehicle Condition
This Jaguar is near perfect inside and out. To handle the sale I recently drove it five hours to my home at speeds up to 75 mph and it drives and handles great. There are a couple of flaws in the paint. two are small scatches, one on the rear fender behind the right door, and the other on the door itself, neither goes to metal and both have been sealed. The third is on the hood next to the left vent, there is a small area of paint reaction (looks like uneven area). I tried to take pictures of them but they don't show up real well. I will post them on the above site as well. I honestly don't know of anything else that is wrong with it. I may try and have a local restorer inspect it and post his results
