Sellers description:
We offer today a Jaguar that Runs and drives amazing and without a glitch. It doesn't look as pretty as it should as it is due for a restoration, but it is mechanically amazing, maintained and used very often. it can definitely be driven as is for many more years and restore later ! this car throughout its life has received maintenance for it to be used and be dependable. this shows when driving the car. the body, paint and interior are solid and all there but look old, used and worn. the car does not smoke at all as the motor had been freshened. the gearbox is superb, no grinds at all. the only weak spot that is bad is the batter tray. rusty area which is very common. the floors are very solid. the best part of the car body wise is the gaps between the doors and fenders, quarter panels. they are perfect. zero sagging of the frame. nothing major underneath the car to call out. no rust holes. this is not a rust bucket ! it is an original car used well and still used daily, plated and insured by its owner.

Imported into the United Kingdom from Canada and sold by Tom Smith Cars of Brackley in January 2018. Listed on eBayUK, seller's description below.
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1970-Etype-Series-2-convertible-4-2-039-winter-project-039-03 ...?

Here we have a cracking winter project for someone! A 1970 series 2 roadster for a full resto job with a very strong and powerful working engine (with the desirable triple SU carbs). The car will need full restoration. LHD, originally from Canada. Fibre glass bonnet is not original or correct (approx. £4.5k a new steel one or there are some second hand about). Will need a full paint job. Interior is very original. Seats in quite good condition, a few tears here and there.

The floors are good but the sills are rusty. It would be perfectly possible to spend a week patching the floor for an MoT and doing a light restoration. The car could then be enjoyed as a scruffy driver, but with restored roadsters getting well over six figures at the moment, it would be financially viable to restore the car properly. There is a healthy profit to be made should you decide to sell it. This car is a Canada import and all duties have been paid, the car is ready to UK register.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
