Sellers description:
This is the one, 1968 Jaguar XKE numbers matching series 1.5. This barn find was completely restored with a newly rebuilt engine in 1987. Unfortunately due to circumstances the owner put a car cover on this car and then didn't touch it until January of this year when we brought it out. Chrome is in very good shape so is the glass. The car was not under dry conditions thus the rust shown in the pictures. Surface rust on the exterior. Main rust is under or beneath cowl area on drivers side. To our amazement the Antifreeze was still good and when we put new plug wires, points, and distributor cap on it the engine fired right up and sounds great! According to the previous owner the mileage on the rebuilt engine was under 200 miles. Compression is good and the oil looks clean. That being said the car does not drive due to the brakes being frozen. It does roll and can be put on a trailer. This is a great car to restore, or it would be a superior parts car.
