Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very nice 1968 2+2 E-type Coupe. This car was recently purchased from it's long term New York Jaguar club owner who took extremely good care of his pride and joy, being garaged during his entire stewardship.
This desirable and rare Series 1.5 model presents extremely well with an excellent body and crisp cosmetics. The body and chassis on this car appear very honest with superb original specification shutlines to the doors, trunk hatch, and especially the ever-important bonnet. The paintwork on the car is excellent and holding up extremely well in the correct Jaguar Carmen Red, with barely a chip/blemish here or there. It appears the rubber and chrome-work was also renewed at the time of the restoration, with a new windshield fitted.
The car has been re-trimmed with black leather to the front seats, with matching vinyl, carpets, and headliner to the rest of the car. The steering wheel has been upgraded to a thicker and more robust wooden rim (that doesn't flex like the original one).
The matching-numbers engine fires easily on the key, is well-tuned, has good oil pressure and no smoke, and sings happily down the road with very good to excellent mechanicals. There is evidence of a quality stainless exhaust system fitted.
The car's undercarriage looks clean and solid. The engine bay is well-detailed and very clean. the wheel and tire set look nearly new.
Overall, a nice and honest car holding up very well. This Series 1.5 Jaguar still retains alot of the the Series 1 features, and must be considered fantastic value in this lovely, restored, and totally usable condition.

The car is a 10 out of 10, this is one of the best I have ever owned and I have owned over 100 E Types. 47,000 miles from new. 2 owners, the last owner 30 for years.
