Jaguar E Type 2+2 FHC Series 1.5 1968
75,240 miles (Not Warranted)
This E Type is an original LHD Canadian car. The car is very complete but notably missing its brake servo, the cantrail chromes, plug leads, exhaust, carpets and body seals throughout. The car has been fitted with some brand new panels - trunk floor, both main floor sides, sill outers and toeboards. The new replacement panels mainly carry their original Martin Robey identification labels and original black primer. The new owner will have to satisfy themselves as to the standard of body restoration completed so far as some improvement will be needed. There are various loose items including - front overiders, sun visors, tailgate hinge and latch covers, rear seat hinges, rear view mirror, side door mirror, fuel pump, LH door chrome, underdash parcel shelf, wheel nut tool & hammer, spare wheel clamp, external air deflector, underbonnet undertray, various trim panels, door chrome strips and a couple of new seals. Note that the car was loosely reassembled only and will need to be dismantled and reassembled properly throughout. The original data plate is in place, the front frame carries the original stamp, the engine block and cylinder head are matching and there is a factory Heritage certificate confirming the matching numbers and that the car was originally BRG with black and fitted with a 4 speed manual gearbox. Some mechanical refurbishment has been completed to an unknown spec to the rear suspension, brakes and steering rack. The original full length Webasto sunroof is in place and complete with internal air deflector but excepting the fabric. Keys are included. Being a Canadian spec car it was originally fitted with triple SU carburettors and is not a conversion. Sold as a non runner but the engine is free and turns by hand. This car needs to be UK registered, however it has been NOVA'd.
Auctioneers notes: A wonderful opportunity to purchase an early series 1.5 E Type even though she is a 2+2, there is a lot of work to be done on this car. On the plus side a fair amount of welding has been done.
