This 1967 Jaguar XKE is a Series I 2+2 that was built in June 1966 and subsequently delivered to New York. The seller acquired the car as a project in 2000, and it was overhauled during the following decade. The car has been refinished in white over replacement tan leather upholstery, and power comes from a rebuilt 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Features include triple SU carburetors, replacement 15″ wire wheels, Wilwood front disc brakes, an overhauled suspension, a replacement wiring harness, and a folding rear bench seat. This modified XKE is now offered with its removed four-speed transmission, an extra pair of seats, a JDHT certificate, refurbishment photos, a tool set and jack, and a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.
The E-Type was styled by Malcolm Sayer, and the 2+2 models were lengthened for rear seating space and the roofline was raised. This example was delivered new in Silver Grey and Black, and in 2010 the car was refinished in white. In 2019 the car was disassembled and refinished in white again, at which point the brighwork was refreshed. The seller notes poor alignment of the rear hatch as well as the chrome door frames.
MWS 15″ wire wheels with two-ear knock-offs were sourced by the seller and are mounted to replacement splined hubs. Each wheel wears a 185-series Vredestein Sprint Classic tire, including the matching spare. Wilwood disc brakes have been added up front, and the removed front calipers were subsequently utilized at the rear. The shocks, sway bars, and other suspension components have been replaced.
The interior features front bucket seats that were reupholstered in tan leather, and the rear bench folds to provide additional cargo space. During the refurbishment the wiring harness is said to have been replaced with a unit manufactured by Rhode Island Wiring Service, and Koolmat insulation has been added to the cabin. The seller notes that two holes in the driver-side door panel have been repaired, and two dimples are present in the doorsill on that side. Some of the interior photos were taken in 2020, and the stereo has since been removed.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel with the Jaguar crest frames Smiths instruments that include a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock and a 160-mph speedometer. The seller notes that the speedometer reads high as well as that the clock and tachometer have been rebuilt with modern internals. Auxiliary gauges are present in the center of the dash above driver switchgear. The five-digit odometer shows just under 37k miles, approximately 3k of which have been added by the seller over the past two decades. True mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter inline-six is said to have been rebuilt by Coventry West of Lithonia, Georgia and is equipped with triple SU carburetors, smooth valve covers, an electronic distributor sourced from 123ignition, and a stainless-steel exhaust. Other replacement parts include the fuel pump, aluminum radiator, electric fan, Lucas alternator, and voltage regulator. A spin-on oil-filter conversion has been installed, and the last service consisted of an oil change.
The engine stamping reads 7E52346-9, matching the data plate affixed to the car as well as the cylinder head and the JDHT certificate. The middle digits appear to have been restamped. The serial number on the accompanying removed four-speed manual gearbox matches the data plate and the JDHT certificate.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a JT5 five-speed manual transmission from 5speeds.com, and the rear differential has been rebuilt.
The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate lists a build date of June 9, 1966 along with the factory color scheme, serial numbers, and delivery to New York.
A set of refurbished seats with headrests from a Series III model will accompany the car along with a tool set compiled by the seller.

This 1967 Jaguar XKE Series I 2+2 coupe underwent an eight-year refurbishment commissioned by the seller with over $70k in work completed before it was sold on BaT in October 2021. The car was disassembled and refinished in white, and the 4.2-liter inline-six was rebuilt and mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Further equipment includes triple SU carburetors, chrome 15″ wire wheels, Wilwood front disc brakes, an overhauled suspension, a replacement wiring harness, and a stainless-steel exhaust system. The 2+2 cabin is outfitted with a wood-rimmed steering wheel, Coco Mats, and tan leather covering the seats and interior panels. This XKE was acquired by the current owner in 2022 and is now offered by the seller on their behalf with a removed four-speed transmission, a JDHT certificate, refurbishment photos, a tool set and jack, and a clean North Carolina title in the current owner’s name.
