    Ebay item 4/27/09
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-Restored-1967-xke-4-2-Series-1-2-2-Collect ...
Opening bid $13,000 reserve not met, no bids yet 6 days left in auction. Complete VIN on this car J671E76726BW.

    Sellers description:
1967 XKE 2 + 2, Series One, black-plate, matching numbers car with covered headlights. I’ve had several vintage Jaguars, and am selling this one to buy yet another. It had a complete restoration in 2002 by a local specialist, including but not limited to new wire wheels, brake, driveshaft, and carburetor work, as well as a stainless exhaust system, all at a documented cost of more than $28,000.00, which did not include the cost of the paint and clear-coat, and it would take a specialist to know that it was not a concourse restoration. The mileage showing is probably not reliable, but there’s absolutely no rust. I drive it for pleasure two or three times a week, and to the best of my knowledge everything works, but I haven’t run the rebuilt heater or the windshield washer. I do know that the lights, including the reverse light, the cabin lights, all of the gauges, the cigarette lighter, the triple windshield wipers, and the original Blaupunkt radio all work. I installed Jaguar floor mats to protect the carpets, and bought tools for the knock-offs, a battery, a voltage regulator, a reduction gear starter, a radiator hose, a door hinge (I kept the old one), a retrofit screw-on oil-filter, and other documented goodies. The paint is a Jaguar color (Kingfisher Blue), which is a glittering deep green. It’s not the original color, but of all of the remarkable features the paint always gets the most compliments. The lines and gaps are perfect, the engine compartment and frame rails are almost as pretty as the exterior, and the interior is flawless. The front and rear exterior window trim is missing, but can be purchased by anyone demanding perfection for show purposes. The only imperfections are a scratch in the glass of one of the covered headlights and a dull spot in the chrome of a rear bumper, which need to be pointed out or would go unnoticed. The car is garaged in my home, where the documentation is also available.
