    Car returns to ebay 6/19/14
    www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-SERIES-1-1967-Jaguar-XKE-4-2L-SERIES-1-4-SPEED-MO ...
Current bid $19,100, no reserve, 31 bids 9 days left in auction. 63k miles. Car now said to be in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania.

    Sellers description:
This is an awesome mostly original MATCHING NUMBERS, 1967 Jaguar XKE/E-type 2+2, 4-SPEED. It is a great running, straight body, rust-free driver. The only thing that it needs apologies for is the leather interior and the headliner. These E-types are certainly getting rare, especially the Series I. This had been privately owned for about 23 years. Comes with a file of about $15,000 in receipts and restoration (most of restoration was done by previous owner). Essential work was done at a qualified local antique Jaguar dealer. The paint was done about 10 years ago and is in great shape. I believe it is the original color. All the essential upgrades have already been done. Steel brake lines. Upgraded cooling system that almost all of these have and need. Original wheels, including the spare! Most of the interior switches work (at least the essential ones: wipers, interior lights, headlights, brake lights, reverse lights). The tachometer works, but the speedometer/odometer does not. Right turn signal does not work. All glass is crystal clear. Brakes work great and it stops very quickly. Shifts smoothly without any grinding of gears. Starts right up. Would not hesitate to take on road trip today. Tires have great tread. Does not have air-conditioning or a radio (would be an easy install). The original heater is not installed, but it comes with the car as well as 2 boxes of spare parts.

I just had this to the Import car show in Carlisle, PA and it was the only Series I there and it was definitely a show stopper. I couldn't get good pictures from underneath the car, but it is well sorted out with no rust (the body was beautifully restored). This car would look even more fantastic with the chrome being sent out and polished up, which isn't a big deal.

Only reason I am selling it is that due to some family changes it would probably be sitting in the garage most of the time. These need to be driven.

Overall, this is a great running very desirable 4-speed, matching numbers, straight body E-type that could be driven anywhere safely right now. Besides a few odds and ends that need tidied up it has everything to drive safely and to enjoy today. The interior leather is the biggest lacking thing on this car (kits are available online to replace it). All of the expensive upgrades have been done.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
