Sellers description:
This 1967 Jaguar E-type coupe is a great original car and perfect for an awesome driver. This E-Type is complete with a four speed manual transmission, 82,000 ORIGINAL MILES, and triple SU carbs. This car has been in Arizona its entire life except between 1983 and 1998 when it was transported back and forth from New Jersey to Arizona. The owner we purchased the car from stated that the motor was completely rebuilt in 1987.
Last year we purchased two E-Types from a woman in Arizona. She was an avid Jaguar enthusiast and had a series I roadster as well as this coupe. On her daughters 21st birthday she gave this car to her daughter as she thought it would be wonderful to go to club events and share the experience with her. She had divorced her doctor husband who had no interest in the clubs or Jags. As fate would have it, her daughter was in a car accident 6 months after her birthday. She was trapped inside her car which caught on fire before the fire department could get there. The rest is history. Life is short and death is long? The mother sold both of the cars reluctantly as she couldn?t bear to see them any longer. It has taken me a year to decide to depart with this one.
The car has been repainted in which is in good overall condition but does have some imperfections to the body. There are a few spots where the paint is blistering on the right rear and on the hood. There are some very minor scratches as well. Overall the paint shows well and is very presentable. The front and rear chrome bumpers have a great shine to them but do show some minor pitting.
There is a full size spare in the trunk along with a jack. The true wire wheels are in very good condition and show no signs of rust or curb rash on them. The tires have very good life on them and are 205/70 R15 radials. The mileage shows 82,195 and is actual and is being sold on an actual mileage Arizona title. The VIN# is 1E76571. The title for the car says it is a 1967 but by decoding the VIN it shows it is a 1966.
The leather seats are both in excellent original condition with only some minor wear to them. Both front seats have been covered by seat covers for a number of years. There is a spot on the armrest in the center where the leather is rubbing away (see photo). Nothing uncommon for these cars. All gauges work along with the switches and headlights, wipers and horn but the clock is not working. There is an after market AM/FM cassette player that is currently inoperable.
The inline 4.2 liter 6 cylinder engine runs extra strong and is a ball to drive. The triple SU's perform as they should and feed the inline 6 perfectly. This car has been sitting in our shop for a number of months now without running. We got in it this past week and she fired right up with no jumping or problems.
