Description from above auction:
This 1967 Jaguar XKE 2+2 was purchased by the seller for his wife two months and approximately 100 miles ago. It is described as a largely stock Series I powered by a 4.2-liter straight-six paired to an automatic transmission. The car has likely been repainted in its factory color at some point per the seller, and the vehicle is equipped with factory power brakes. The seller's wife has decided she wants a modern daily driver, so this Jaguar is now being offered in Colorado with a clean Montana title.
Although no records exist, the seller assumes this XKE has been repainted at some point. He states that it appears to have been a professional job, as no overspray has been found upon inspection. Some scratches and paint nicks are highlighted in the photo gallery, and all brightwork appears present in the pictures provided.
The car rides on 15″ chrome knock-off wire wheels shod in 185 section Michelin redline radial tires.
As the name suggests, this XKE features a rear seat. The front seats are shown in the photo gallery and display some wear commensurate with age but appear to be free of rips or tears. The interior has not been restored to the seller's knowledge, though the spare tire plate and carpeting are not original.
Interior flaws are listed as inoperable aftermarket A/C, a few inoperable dash switches, a small crack near the gauge cluster, and an intermittent tachometer. The speedometer and odometer are reported to function well. 7,500 miles are currently displayed, though documentation is not present to confirm total mileage.
The 4.2-liter inline-six and automatic transmission have been maintained in stock specification to the seller's knowledge. The motor reportedly starts easily and runs well.
The factory data plate is displayed above, confirming the original chassis, body, engine, and transmission numbers. The chassis stamping is shown above, which matches the data plate.

Auction description:
This 1967 Jaguar XKE 2+2 was purchased by the seller on BaT in August 2017 and refurbished over the past few hundred miles. Power is from a 4.2L inline-six equipped with triple SU carburetors and paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. This coupe wears a red finish over a black interior, and updates under the seller’s care reportedly include cylinder head work as well as a new A/C system, alternator, radiator, brake booster, shocks, exhaust system, wheels, tires, and seat padding. This XKE is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, removed wire wheels, spare parts, and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.
This XKE was originally finished in Carmen Red and was refinished under previous ownership. A radio antenna is installed on the passenger-side front fender, although no sound system is currently equipped. There is a hairline crack in the paint by the center hood latch as well as on the driver’s door, with both areas pictured in the gallery. Buffing under the previous ownership wore through the paint in a few areas.
Brightwork is installed at the doorsills, enclosed headlamps, windows, and door handles. Four 15″ chrome knock-off wire wheels were newly installed during the seller’s ownership, and they are wrapped in Coker Classic tires with red-line sidewalls. The previously installed wheels are included in the sale.
Under current ownership, the seat-mount tracks were replaced, the seats were reassembled with new padding, and the sun visors and seatbelts were replaced. A new alternator was also installed in order to meet the requirements of the new A/C system, and the seller notes that the clock needs to be rebuilt. The amp meter was changed out to be compatible with the new alternator, and the original Lucas ammeter will be sold with the vehicle.
The 5-digit odometer shows just under 7,500 miles, of which the seller has added more than 350. True mileage is unknown. The original seat belts will be sold with car.
The 4.2-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and is paired with an automatic transmission. Upgrades by the seller include installing a Pertronix ignition, aluminum radiator, and stainless-steel exhaust header and piping. The cylinder head was removed and machined, the valve guides were bored and replaced, and a tappet hold down kit was installed. The seller also reportedly replaced the radiator fan, coolant tank, and brake master cylinder.
Suspension updates by the seller reportedly include new adjustable shocks as well as new upper and lower ball joints.
The provided Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate notes that the car was originally dispatched to the US in June 1966. The certificate matches the factory data plate and shows the original chassis, body, engine, and transmission numbers. The chassis stamping shown in the gallery matches the data plate.
