I purchased this car from my dad about 6 years ago. He bought the car in the mid seventies. Much work has been done to keep it on the road, but a restoration will be unavoidable. The bonnet is from a series 11/2 car (incorrect), but many mechanical related parts have been replaced. She's driven several times every month.

Current bid US $15,000 reserve not met 1 bid 6 days left in auction. Seller cobaltenterprises, car now said to be in Granite Falls, Washington, 42k miles.

    Sellers description:
1966 XKE 2 + 2. This car was owned by the same family since 1974. It has spent most of it's life in a garage. I purchased the car recently and was going to convert it to a manual transmission and decided not to due to the condition of the car being so original. I believe this is the first year of the 2 + 2 and I have been told it is a series 1 with a series 1.5 Bonnet. The car runs well and shifts fine. The brakes are good and it travels straight down the road. The choke is not hooked up and is a little hard to start. The car died on me twice when I drove it. It appears to be something to do with fuel. I let it sit for a minute and it started right up. If you purchase the car I would trailer it until this was resolved. The previous owner passed away 6 years ago and the car has sat in a garage since. He updated the cooling system, alternator and ignition system. The valve covers have had some welding around the mounting nuts. The car comes with two replacement OEM used valve covers. All the gages, lights and wipers work. The clock does not work.

The paint is faded and has nicks/dings. The car is very rust free except an area on the upper passengers door jam (Pictured) and the front of both floor boards. The floor board rust measures about 6" square in the corner closest the outside of the car. There is a area of repair (Pictured) by the rear hatch that I was told was repaired when the owner went to drive the car when he was 16 and backed it out of a steep drive way. It also appears that there was some braze work done on the Bonnet mounts connected to the frame. I was told that the last owners father (The one that purchased the car in 1974) Had a small front end fender bender that required this work to be done along with the Bonnet being replace at that time with a series 1.5 Bonnet. You can see some miss match in the paint on the front of the Bonnet. The interior is in nice shape. There are a couple splits on the drive seat and everything else looks good.

All the glass is good and free of cracks or dings. The doors are a little hard to open and will require adjustment. The car comes with manuals, new weather stripping and all the old cooling system parts that were upgraded minus the radiator. A $1,000.00 non-refundable deposit will be required with in 24 hours of the auction close. The car is located in Granite Falls, Washington.

It was my dad's car. I'll give $6500 unless it's already dismantled.
