Additional info. from seller:
This is a California car that I bought just this year after being with the previous owner for 30 years. At the end of last year the previous owner had the Chevy 5.7L V8 installed. The new motor has about 3000 miles on it and runs well. The engine compartment had to be heavily modified to accept the Chevy motor. The car was an original “black plate” car and has no rust. The Chevy motor develops about the same amount of hp as the original Jaguar 4.2L motor. The automatic transmission is also a Chevy unit. The chrome is good for its age, the mostly original paint is sun faded. There are some small tears in the uphostery. The car drives well and the tires are OK.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
