www.bonhams.com/cgi-bin/public.sh/pubweb/publicSite.r

Auction description:
Sale 18219 - Collectors' Motor Cars, Motorcycles and Automobilia, 17 Nov 2010
Yorkshire Event Centre, Harrogate
Lot No: 782
1968 Jaguar E-Type 'Series 1½' 2+2 Coupé
Registration no. RGA 202G
Chassis no. 1E51227
Engine no. 7E54745-9
Estimate: £16,000 - 20,000

Manufactured in the summer of 1968 during this transitional period, this 'Series 1½' 2+2 Coupé underwent extensive body and paintwork refurbishment in 1989-1991, the suspension and steering bushed being replaced at the same time. Since the car's acquisition by the current vendor it has been treated to a bare metal re-spray, the axle/suspension bushes have been replaced, a complete brake overhaul has been carried out and all chromework replaced or re-plated with the exception of the wheels. All of the foregoing has been done since 2002 and the car is described as in generally good condition with excellent bodywork and paint. Finished in red with black leather interior, 'RGA 202G' is offered with MoT to April 2011 and Swansea V5.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
