This 1968 Jaguar XKE Series 1.5 coupe was acquired by the late owner in 1990 and was subsequently refurbished over the next year before being displayed in a museum. It was then reportedly driven until approximately 2009, when it was parked and stored. Now in non-running condition, the car is equipped with a replacement 4.2-liter inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission and has been repainted Carmen Red over tan leather. Equipment includes sealed-beam open headlights, 15″ wire-spoke steel wheels, power-assisted disc brakes, dual side mirrors, triple windshield wipers, a Blaupunkt CD stereo, and a heater. This XKE Series 1.5 coupe is now offered on dealer consignment with the owner’s manual, refurbishment photos, literature, and a clean California title.

The Series 1.5 E-Types featured exposed headlights shared with Series II cars but retained Series I equipment such as a small front grille opening, turn signals mounted above the front bumper, and taillights situated above the split rear bumper. This example came finished from the factory in Opalescent Silver Blue and was repainted Carmen Red during the aforementioned refurbishment. Additional equipment includes sealed-beam open headlights, a louvered clamshell hood, wraparound chrome bumpers, dual side mirrors, triple windshield wipers, a side-hinged rear hatch, and dual exhaust outlets.

The 15″ wire wheels are secured by rounded knock-offs and are mounted with older 185HR15 Michelin XVS tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.

The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in light tan leather along with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Interior appointments include black vinyl dash trim, a sliding rearview mirror, lap belts, a Blaupunkt CD stereo, and a heater.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 76k miles.

The replacement 4.2-liter inline-six was installed some time prior to 1990 and is linked with a full-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission. The engine has not been started or run since 2009 and requires mechanical servicing.
