Ebay item 1/7/10
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-E-Type-1968-Jaguar-E-type-XKE-Restore-/330 ...
Current bid $6,100, no reserve, 3 bids 9 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
The car is not running and is partially disassembled, but all parts available for restoration. The car has been well cared for and kept in garage when not being driven. The engine was running when it was shut down in 1977 because of a leaking rear oil seal on the crankshaft. The leak dropped oil on the clutch, making the car not drivable. It has been up on blocks since then.

I bought this car for my wife in 1970 and it has 46,282 miles. She drove it for 7 years and she is a very safe and careful driver. You can see from the pictures that the interior is in very good shape. There are the usual dings and a dent on the side and one dent in the bonnet where someone backed into the front bumper. The bonnet has been removed along with the radiator and AC unit, alternator, and electric cooling fans; in preparation for pulling the engine. I had planned to restore it myself, but did not have time. The exhaust pipes and mufflers need replacing.

Jaguar body with all parts and some door seals for replacement

Complete Jaguar Official Manual (picture included) that includes:

1. Driver’s Manual
2. Workshop Manual
3. Special tuning manual

Spare cam shims for adjusting the valve clearance, and some other spare parts are included.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
