    Car now offered in Hemmings:

    www.hemmings.com/auction/1967-jaguar-e-type-santa-rosa-ca-713760

    Seller's description:

    Vehicle Location Santa Rosa, California

    Seller KennyLombino

    VIN 1E34054

    Odometer 70,891

    Engine 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six

    Transmission Manual

    Exterior Color Dark Blue

    Interior Gray leather

This 1967 Jaguar E-type Coupe was reportedly purchased by the seller from the original owner around 25 years ago, after it had been restored. That work included a repaint in the original and correct Dark Blue. He said seeing a neighbor’s new E-type when he was eight years old spurred his excitement for sports cars and, later, a collection of them. He decided to have his ’67 Jag modified into road/track club racer after watching E-types in a British vintage racing event as part of Jaguar’s 50th anniversary celebration for the model. In 2011, he commissioned XKs Unlimited in San Luis Obispo, California to do the work, modifying the engine for more power and the chassis for better handling and braking. (The restoration shop became XKs Motorsport in 2017 after selling the parts operation to well-known British car parts specialist Moss Motors.) The resulting car is what an E-type might have looked and performed like when modified in-period for club racing. He named the Jaguar “Gwendolyn.” The seller notes it remains a “matching-numbers car in excellent condition.” In a video filmed for Petrolicious, he emphasizes how much he enjoys driving the car in club events and on challenging roads. “It is an amazing car. You will be the fastest in your club,” he says.

The last year for the original Series 1 model, the 1967 Jaguar E-type was the last with the desirable glass-covered headlights. The Series 1 car had been upgraded to a 4.2-liter engine and fully synchronized four-speed manual transmission in 1965. (These are sometimes referred to as Series 1.5 models.)

    FEATURES

The current owner had this 1967 Jaguar E-type modified into a “street-legal race car.”

The work was done by E-Type specialist XKs Unlimited (now XKs Motorsport).

The original 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six was modified to reach about 300 hp, per the seller.

New, the engine was rated at 265 horsepower (gross).

The major modifications include performance cams and triple Weber carburetors.

Electronic ignition and a more open stainless-steel exhaust were also installed.

The seller says weight was reduced but did not provide details.

Photos show the bumpers removed from the car.

A rollbar was installed for club racing events.

    Racing type seatbelts were installed.

A modern stereo CD head unit is installed in the dash and working.

The suspension was modified with adjustable dampers (see photos).

The seller also notes upgraded Wilwood disc brakes replacing the original discs

Wider, original-style wire-spoke wheels with center knock-off hubs were installed.

Kumho radial tires are seen in the photos.

    COMES WITH

A Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate comes with the car.

    NEEDS

According to the seller, the E-type has no current needs.

Leather seats show some wear, but this Jag was driven as intended.

The seller states that this vehicle will be sold on a clean Montana title in the name of his LLC. The car is in Santa Rosa, California. Restored by the original owner about 25 years ago and then modified under current ownership 11 years ago, this 1967 Jaguar E-type Series 1 Coupe delivers higher performance and handling than a factory-stock restoration yet preserves the true spirit of the iconic E-type. The seller has enjoyed it on road and track and says it is ready to go for the next owner.
