Ebay item 2/8/11
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-1967-Jaguar-XKE-E-Type-Fixed-Head-Coupe-/1 ...
Current bid $12,100 reserve not met, 5 bids 5 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
Up for auction is a 1967 Jaguar E-Type Fixed Head Coupe. Current owner purchased the car in 1973 and is only the second owner. This car has the 4.2 liter six cylinder with 4 speed manual transmission. Car has been sitting for approximately 10 years, and was covered the entire time (car cover as well as sheltered). Mileage shows 65K and change. The speedometer ceased working approximately 12 years ago, but the actual mileage difference would only be approximately 250 miles as it was seldom driven when in operation.

Approximately 10 years ago the following maintenance items were attended to:

* New brake pads front, back, and e-brake
* Brake cylinders rebuilt and sleeved with stainless steel by first rate machine shop
* New master cylinder
* Rear assembly removed and all u joints replaced in half shafts and drive shaft
* New Rear Shocks
* New Front Shocks
* All Carbs rebuilt
* New Fuel Pump
* Fuel Tank plastic lined

Tires will need replacing due to age with the front ones currently showing cracks. Despite brake work, I would assume calipers will need attention form sitting. Motor always ran well, and ran well last time it was in operation. No body dings, dents, etc. All glass (including glass over headlights) is good. All rubber was replaced save for the back glass rubber (which now needs replacing). Paint shows cracking due to age and will need to be redone. At least two of the wire wheels were relaced with stainless spokes at one point in time.

All parts used were always either genuine Jag items, or from Terrys or equivalent. Seats covers were replaced at one point with Conolly replacements from England, as was the console. Dash was replaced at one point as well. The color has been resprayed at one point in time, but with the same midnight blue color that was original to the car. The Vin is 1E34023, and the motor is the original motor. Body is solid; any rust is minimal. Engine was last run approximately 10 years ago. Though not started, motor was spun over periodically over the past 10 years and starter easily spins motor now. Body is solid and owner does not believe there is any bondo.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
