Ebay item 1/18/11 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-Coupe-1966-Jaguar-E-type-Coupe-Great-O ...
Car has a buy it now price of $45,000 for 6 days.
Sellers description:
This is a rare original California car. From what I have gathered, it was owned by the original owner from 1966 to about 2003 or 2004, until it was sold by their estate in 2003 or 2004. During this time it spent its life in CA. It has 59,138 original and actual miles. Two owners have had the car since 2004, with the most recent selling because he was trimming down his collection. It spent 2004 to 2010 in North Carolina. The original color of this car is Opalescent Silver Grey with Red interior. You can see the original color in the engine bay as well as the spare tire compartment. The original owner did a color change to the body of Light Blue (a Jaguar E-type color offered in 1969). The color change was done a long time ago, so the paint shows signs of age in cracking and smaller chips on the car, but the body is very straight and solid. In addition, the interior is in original condition and looks good for its age. It does also shows some patina. The car runs and drives well with good compression and oil pressure. Furthermore it handles well and starts up right away. The gears shift well and it has great acceleration.
As you would expect from a low mileage, original and not abused California car, the underside is extremely solid with no rust and clean. This great car has registrations going back to when it was first registered on 6/17/1966 to 9/16/1993 and the original warranty card with the original owners name. In addition, it has the original radio, original tool roll and tools, Original jack, hammer, grease gun and original owners manual. These cars are very hard to find this original and nice. If you are looking for a restored Jaguar E-type that is concours or show restored, then you may want to look elsewhere. However if you are looking for an original Jaguar E-type that you can drive and enjoy, that has character and original patina (original wear), this would be a great investment car. You can always restore them, but they are only original once. This is a great car for someone who appreciates originality and the true Jaguar E-type experience. I have owned a lot of Jaguar E-types of every year and especially like the coupes because of their timeless beauty. Also don’t forget, 2011 is the 50th year to celebrate these phenomenal and legendary cars.
To elaborate on the condition of this car, as I always try to represent my cars as honestly as I can:
Paint: The paint on this car is not original (obviously with the color change). It was however done a long time ago. It does have chips and is showing cracking, especially shows cracking on the nose of the car. It is about a 15 foot paint job, but what you would expect from an older repaint and original type car. It looks like it was probably done in the 70s. It is presentable and looks nice on the car, but is old and shows its age. The doors close nice, as does the bonnet. Everything lines up as it should and opens and closes with ease.
Chrome: The chrome is actually quite nice for being original. I do not know of it ever getting replated, but it is in mostly nice original shape.
Interior: The interior is original so does show wear as it is 45 years old. There is more wear on the drivers side as to be expected because the car is mostly driven solo. The rest of the upholstery is in excellent original shape. The carpets are also original, so they do show some fading and wear as well. The headliner is in excellent original condition. The dash pad is in good shape as well, with a few imperfections from wear.
Wheels/Tires: The chrome wire wheels are in excellent original shape. It has new tires with less then about 2,000 miles on them.
Underside/floors: The underside is in good original condition. I did not detail the underside as I wanted to show how nice and original it is. The floors and underside are solid. One floor is dented, as most e-type collectors know this is very common. People had a tendency to jack these cars on the floors. The original jack points are still in excellent shape. Being an original CA car and being very well maintained, has kept the underside very nice. No excessive oil leaks, just usual seepage from these cars. The exhaust is older as can seen in the pictures, but there does not appear to be holes or severe dents.
Spare Tire Compartment/Spare Tire and Wheel: The spare tire compartment is very clean and original. Perhaps one of the nicest original spare tire compartments I have seen. It is still painted in the original Opalescent Silver Grey. The spare wheel is in nice shape and the spare tire looks to be original. The hatch door opens and closes excellent with no sag or alignment issues.
Engine Compartment: The engine compartment is in nice original shape and has not been detailed. Not abused or spray bombed black like a lot of cars are. It is also in the original color of Opalescent Silver Grey.
Tools/Jack etc.: The original Jaguar tools are in good original shape. They have not been taken out of the tool roll frequently if at all. The tool roll case itself is original and is a little brittle. The grease gun still has the original paper on it. The original Jack and hammer are in good original shape as well.
Overall: This car cosmetically, structurally and mechnically is a very nice original and unrestored example. Please understand that unrestored does NOT mean in need of restoration, unless you are looking for a perfectly restored automobile. Those cars are going for nearly twice as much as this one. In addition, if you can find one and also one with known history is extremely difficult. This is not a tired old car, but a rare and nice original car that is ready to be enjoyed. These cars are very hard to find in this original condition that can be actually used and driven! This great Jaguar will maintain its value and most likely go up in value as a good investment.
This automobile is available for inspection in Cornelius, NC

Sellers description:
Beautiful example of the first series 4.2 E-type FHC in light blue with red interior trim.
Long term first ownership in Califonia from 1966 until 2003.
This E-type was built on the 24th of February 1966 and supplied through Jaguar Cars, New York, USA to Ronni G. Mobell, Hillsborough, California, who kept the car until 2003.
The car comes with its original Manufacturer's Warranty Document that states it was supplied by Jim Cochrane British Cars Ltd. in Burlingame, California.
Also still available are the original Californian motor vehicle pollution control Certificate of Compliance and all State of California Registration Cards from 1966 up to 1994.
So here we have a very well documented car with long term first ownership. The condition is also truly unmolished and original.
Originally supplied in Opalescent Silver Grey with red interior trim, the car has only once been painted in its current Cotswold Blue color. The good news here is that the car was only painted on the outside, so the original paint is still intact in the engine bay, firewall, engine frames, inside of the bonnet and inside trunk area. Apart from retrimmed front seats and footwell carpets the interior trim is also fully original.
The last couple of years the car stayed in France from where it was imported into the Netherlands this year.
Currently on Dutch EU registration and comes with a Heritage Certificate.
Please contact us to make an appointment to view this magnificent E-type in our showroom in Bilthoven, The Netherlands.
