This 1965 Jaguar XKE is a Series I coupe that was first delivered to the US and was brought to the Netherlands around 1989. It was acquired by the selling dealer in 2015 as a partially-refurbished project that has since been brought to completion. The car has been refinished in metallic gray over red upholstery and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes chrome 15″ knock-off wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, triple SU carburetors, earlier-style interior components, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. This XKE coupe is offered by the selling dealer in the Netherlands with partial service records, a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, and Dutch registration.
The car was finished from the factory in Carmen Red and was repainted in Opalescent Silver Grey during the refurbishment. Exterior details include recessed headlights with clear covers, split chrome bumpers with guards, a louvered hood, three windshield wipers, a left-side mirror, and polished central exhaust outlets.
Chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-off spinners and are mounted with 205/70 Pirelli P4000 tires, while a matching spare is housed beneath the trunk floor. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The braking system was reportedly overhauled by the selling dealer.
The interior was fitted with an earlier 3.8-style dashboard and low-back bucket seats trimmed in red leather. Bright trim accents the center console, and additional appointments include red carpets, hand-crank side windows, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a cabin heater.
Smiths instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with an inset analog clock, and centrally mounted auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 43k miles, less than 500 of which have been added by the selling dealer. True mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter inline-six has been fitted with a replacement cylinder head and is equipped with triple SU carburetors that were reportedly rebuilt by the selling dealer.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists a production date of November 15, 1965 as well as the factory colors and serial numbers.
The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a country that does not issue titles for vehicles. It is being sold on its Dutch registration.
