Car to be at auction 8/11
www.goodingco.com/car/1966-jaguar-e-type-42-litre-series-1-coupe

Auction description:
1966 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 4.2-Litre Coupe
CHASSIS NO. 1E32141
ENGINE NO. 7E6678-9
$60,000 - $90,000
Without Reserve
This Car
As it gets more difficult to find a truly original yet well-preserved classic car, this E-Type is precisely that. Built at the Browns Lane Jaguar Works in 1966, it was one of the later Series 1 E-Types to use the larger 4.2-litre engine with a more user-friendly, full-synchromesh gearbox. Upon completion, the car was destined for San Francisco Jaguar, a noted dealer of fine automobiles in California.

The first owner was an Argentinean race horse owner who regularly traveled to races in the US to see his thoroughbreds in action. After acquiring the new car from San Francisco Jaguar, he used the stylish coupe as personal transport while his horses were racing at the local Bay Meadows Race Track. The Argentinean was a client of Jeanne Borgen, a professional psychic from Pinole, California. On one occasion, a few weeks after the races were over, Mrs. Borgen and her husband were offered the opportunity to buy the Jaguar and quickly decided to make the lovely car their own. With just 200 miles on the odometer, the car was essentially brand new.

The stylish coupe found its new home in the Borgens' garage and it has remained there ever since. They had other everyday cars and reserved the E-Type for pleasure outings such as Sunday picnics and drives along the California coast. They took great care of the car throughout the next decades − the oil was changed every year and the mechanicals serviced as needed by Mr. Borgen, who was a true car enthusiast.

According to the consignor, this stunningly original Series 1 E-Type has covered less than 31,000 miles since new, a figure most E-types have surpassed several times. Furthermore, the car is original and unrestored inside and out, showing what appears to be its original factory paint, except for a blend on the rear of the car, due to a minor shopping cart incident some years ago. The car carries a lovely and irreplaceable patina that only a car with a well-preserved life is likely to display.

Offered with the original tool roll, jack and owner's handbook, as well as a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate certifying the E-Type's matching- numbers engine, this cherished car would make a great addition to any collection of original cars or a proud entry at a preservation class concours. Certainly one of the most original and best- preserved E-Types on the market, this stunning time capsule offers a rare opportunity to buy a classic car that looks just as it did when new.

Seller's Description: Only 2 owners over the past 52 years!
Original, unrestored survivor with recent repaint
Only 33,314 miles
Delivered new in San Francisco and always in CA
Drives wonderfully and feels like only a survivor car can feel

Sold new in San Francisco to a Argentine businessman, he soon sold his Jaguar to his psychic with only 200 miles on it. She and her husband would own this beautiful ''Series 1.5'' for the next 45 years! They would enjoy weekend rides in the car and maintain it yearly...and it survived untouched and with super low miles. In 2011 it was sold with just over 31,000 miles and the new owner would also service and maintain it...but after so many years in the California sun, RLV 112 finally got a new paint job in its original Opalescent Silver Blue.

This wonderful coupe comes with its tools, jack and manual. The Jaguar Heritage certificate shows it's matching numbers and originally delivered to CA in silver blue with dark blue leather. 50+ year old Jaguars are getting very hard to find in this condition and the super restored cars just don't drive and feel like the cars that have survived. Buy this with the intent to own it for the next 45 years!

Price: $125,000
