This very example was ordered new in March of 1965 by American PanAm airline pilot John D. Steers. He ordered the car from well-known dealer Henlys of London whilst on his travels to Europe, to have it exported privately to his home in California himself after arrival of the car in London.
The car is fully matching numbers, cylinder head, block, gearbox and body tags are all original.
The car was kept by its first owner until the early 2000s, when it was acquired by its current owner, a large jaguar collector and enthusiast, who restored the car very carefully, and with the utmost respect for originality.
The first owner pampered the car all throughout its life and has kept every single document relating to the car.
We have never seen a history file this impressive with any Series 1 E-type, ever.
