You are right about the colours, actually the exterior colour isn't original either, as it's aston martin Royale blue.
My car indeed had a rubber gaiter originally, but I preferred the earlier leather design, and since my car was only a hundred or so numbers into the new design, I decided to change it. But since Jaguar changed the wheel arch covers from moquette to vinyl and deleted the side pockets at the same time they changed the shift gaiter, I retrofitted these features aswell, so there would be no mismatch in the interior itself.
What, on the other hand isn't an original feature at all, is the conversion to a full leather interior (apart from the dashboard).

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
