Ebay item 7/22/11
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-4-2-Series-1-Coupe-Barn-Find-/230650419065
Current bid $3,000, 8 bids 4 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1965 XKE E Type Series 1 Coupe. This Jag has been in storage in a barn the last 20-25 years. It has the 4.2 engine with triple carbs and 4 speed transmission. Original White exterior with black interior. What makes this car special it is very early production 1965. Car # 1E30691 which makes it the 690 th car out of 4249 that year. Body # 4E20997 Engine#7E2815-9 and Tranny# EJ1824 and this is an all numbers matching car. Car was taken off the road some time in the 70's. Someone had plans to restore and started to disassemble the body and a few other parts water pump, rad, alt, gas tank exhaust manifold etc. Luckly all parts were kept with the car as seen in photos. All sheetmetal, chrome trim, Bumpers, lights, door panels and console. Interior is all there but will need to be restored. Glass is very good shape as well. Odometer shows 18,785 I have no idea if these are actual miles or not. I did find the oil change sticker in door jamb which starts at 10,000 and goes up to a couple thousand miles less than shown. With car being off of road and stored this long miles could be accurate. Car does have quite a bit of rust on lower rockers, floor pans needing replaced and rear valance area has some rust. Doors are very solid and open and shut nice, Fenders, inners and hood and front valance are mostly solid with surface rust or tiny rust holes and could be repaired. Bumpers are intact and in good shape. Car has original wheels and newer michelin radial tires. Also have original spare, jack and exhaust. Car is not running and will need to be hauled or shipped. This would be an excellent car to restore and put back on the road or use for parts on another project. Car has no Title and will be sold only with bill of sale.

Hello,

The car is now in Holland ready for a complete restoration. The RDW (Dutch authority's) has checked the car if it isn't stolen and if the numbers are correct. It was so they tagged the car and I can start the restoration. If you want you can follow the restoration on www.jag-etype.nl

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
