"Up for Auction, Muncie Imports and Classics presents this 1967 Jaguar Series I, E-Type. This is an exceptional, restored, late Series I, in British Racing Green with a Black leather Interior by Bartlett Interiors. The interior and paint are in very good condition.
This car was purchased in 1997 by the current owner. It was repainted, had the top replaced and the interior replaced in 1996 prior to his purchase. In 1998 and 2000 a total of $33,000 was spent on various mechanical restoration projects. Among those projects were the installation of a Phoenix Steering Wheel (both the original and the Phoenix will be included in the sale), a complete engine overhaul, complete new wiring with new wiring harness, water pump rebuild, new speedo cable, transmission inspection and resealed, jet hot coated exhaust manifolds, new driveshaft U-joints and much more. Too many parts to list here, however we have itemized lists which are available via fax for serious buyers. The car has been driven only about 500 miles since mechanical restoration.
In the words of the current owner, "Obviously when you invest this much into getting a car like it was designed, you hope that it was a good investment. I can vouch for the quality of the work, because in the years since, I have had no real costs servicing the car. It runs like a champ, sounds great, and pulls with tractor like torque. Hats off to the crew at 'Muncie Imports' for the quality of their work."
Other items included are a custom car cover, assorted books, the original steering wheel, and a Jag radio (may not be the original)."

Anonymous above (not me) appears be correct. The heritage certificate posted in 2008 sure looks like it says this car is 1E1 5686, not 5688. So as with the case of 885205, how do we get things corrected on this site when people just plain post mistaken information???
