This 1967 Jaguar XKE Series I roadster is a disassembled project car that was originally dispatched to the United States in April 1967. A family member of the seller acquired the car in the early 1980s and began a refurbishment, and in 1991 the unfinished project was shipped from Florida to Massachusetts, where it has since been stored in the seller’s home garage and refurbishment work has not substantially progressed. The color has been changed to red, and replacement tan leather upholstery has been sourced. Other accompanying equipment includes a disassembled 4.2-liter inline-six, a four-speed manual transmission, enclosed headlights, Smiths gauges, trim pieces, suspension parts, a center console, a top boot, an aged top and frame, and more. This XKE roadster project is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, XKE-related books and literature, removed and spare parts, a tool kit, and a Massachusetts title in the seller’s name.

Finished from the factory in Opalescent Silver Blue, the vehicle’s body components are said to have been repainted in Carmen Red during the early 1980s. The seller also states that the floor pans have not been repaired or replaced.

Accompanying body panels, glass, lamps, trim, hardware, suspension components, and assorted parts are included, which depicts scratches and imperfections on some items. A deteriorated convertible top and its frame are included in the sale. Wheels and tires are not included.

Replacement tan leather upholstery was sourced from G.W. Bartlett Company in early 1980s, as shown in the gallery. The seller states that the upholstered interior parts have been stored in bedroom closets since 1991.

A collection of Smiths gauges will convey with the project. A replacement wiring harness from Martin Robey Sales was partially installed in the late 1980s. Neither a steering wheel nor a radio are included.

The 4.2-liter inline-six was disassembled prior to 1991. The seller states that the engine block, cylinder head, and crankshaft have been lubricated annually to preserve their parts.

The stampings on the engine block and the cylinder head align with the information presented on the heritage certificate.

The four-speed manual transmission has not been rebuilt. Its serial number is photographed below and is also consistent with the heritage certificate. The seller has not been able to locate the chassis number on the front frame.

Catalogs, manuals, and guides are included in the sale.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate shows the original colors and drivetrain numbers as well as the build and dispatch dates.

The Massachusetts title lists a brand of “Odom Discrepancy” and title messages of “This is a duplicate certificate and may be subject to the rights of a person under the original certificate” and also “Odom Discrepancy – Not Actual Mileage”.
