Current bid $65,655 reserve not met 7 bids 9 days left in auction. Sold for $79,500 at above auction. Car now said to be in Santa Barbara, California. 95k miles.

    Sellers description:
Offered for sale is a beautifully restored, mechanically fantastic, entirely honest, numbers matching 1967 Jaguar E-Type Open Two Seater (OTS) finished in factory correct and wonderfully era-specific Primrose over Black leather. A solid and correct car to begin with, the previous owner undertook a costly restoration process in 2005 including paint, body, chrome, upholstery, undercarriage and mechanicals. Consequently, the car still presents beautifully, showing only the negligible wear accrued through the occasional fair weather weekend drive following its completion.

The correct Primrose finish is fantastic: deep, lustrous, completely consistent and marred only by the most insignificant of imperfections, none of which are visible in the pictures. The body is entirely straight, free of dings or dents and retaining even and uniform gaps and panel fits throughout. The brightwork is in excellent shape, as is all of the glass and rubber, and the chrome knock-off wire wheels are wrapped in nearly new radial tires. The interior has been reupholstered in all the correct materials and presents as nicely as it did leaving the factory. The seats, carpets and interior panels are all virtually flawless and the soft top shows only the most minimal wear with a crystal clear rear window and an original boot cover. The car's undercarriage is entirely restored, correct and free of rust and the engine compartment is detailed and gorgeous.

Firing up without hesitation, the engine idles consistently, pulls strongly and smoothly through each of the gearbox's four gears with excellent compression across all cylinders. The cooling system works exceptionally well and the exhaust note from the dual stainless system is fantastic, allowing for grin-inducing performance in nearly any situation. The car drives and brakes straight and true, the suspension is tight and the car is a joy to drive.

Exceptionally well restored, numbers matching, mechanically excellent, honest and correct. Please bid accordingly.

Lot # S136 1967 Jaguar XKE SI 4.2 Convertible; S/N 1E14628; Engine # 7E12044-9; Primrose Yellow/Black; Black vinyl top; Cosmetic restoration, 3- condition; Hammered Sold at $95,000 plus commission of 8.00%; Final Price $102,600 - Chrome wire wheels, blackwall radial tires, Panasonic CD stereo. - Good paint, weak taillight and trim chrome. Good upholstery and top. Dirty and very used engine compartment. Frame painted assembled and over all the fasteners. A 2005 cosmetic redo that has been heavily used since. - Not an attractive car, either in its presentation or in the caliber of its workmanship. The price it brought is indicative of present effusive XKE values. This one would have been a more appropriate value at $75,000.
