Car to be at auction 1/10
    www.russoandsteele.com/collector_car/1967_jaguar_xke_roadster__/42-6492.html

    Auction description:
    Consignment # 42-6492
    VIN: 1E14540
Offered here is a fine example of a 1967 Jaguar E-Type Convertible. Finished in burgundy with a black interior, this magnificent Series I car has just been the object of a complete full restoration to a very high quality and as such is in excellent condition. The exterior is exceptionally straight, sporting a like-new paint surface throughout. The interior has been completely restored as well and shows as it did when the car departed the assembly line in Coventry. The underside is just as nice as the top and this E-Type is in truly breathtaking condition overall. Correct under the hood as well, it features the original 4.2L straight-6 engine, fully-synchronized 4-speed manual tranmission and desirable triple SU carbs in their final year before being switched to the horsepower robbing Stromberg units in 1968.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
