This 1967 Jaguar XKE is a Series I, open two-seater that was built in October of 1966 and dispatched from the factory on November 14 for distribution in the US. The first owner was a Mr. Pearce of Farmington, New Mexico, and the car is reported to have remained in that state until it was recently acquired by the selling dealer. The original 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed gearbox. A refurbishment was performed between 2006 and 2010, including a repaint in the factory Primrose and refresh of the interior, as well as installing new Dayton wire wheels and a replacement soft top. The car subsequently participated in the 2010 Texas Hill Country rally and Bluebonnet Festival, before receiving a best in class at the inaugural Santa Fe Concorso. This Series I E-Type is now being offered in Oklahoma with a matching factory hardtop, photos from the refurbishment, a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, and a New Mexico title.

The exterior was repainted red at some point in the past, and it was stripped and refinished in its factory Primrose by Lodi’s Ride in Albuquerque, New Mexico during the 2006-2010 refurbishment. New rubber seals were installed during reassembly, and the brightwork is reported to remain unrestored apart from the rear bumper over-riders.

A body-color hardtop is included, and the soft top has been reupholstered in black canvas. The 15″ Dayton wire wheels are wrapped in 205-series Pirelli P4000 tires.

Originally trimmed in black, the cabin was reupholstered in beige during the refurbishment. Matching carpets have been fitted, and black rubber floor mats line each footwell. The upper dash pad has reportedly been replaced, and a more modern stereo and speakers reside in the center console.

A reconditioned steering wheel frames the primary Smiths factory gauges, and auxiliary instrumentation is mounted in the center dash above a row of toggle switches. 91k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer.

The triple-carbureted 4.2-liter XK inline-six is paired with a four-speed manual gearbox. Stamping 7E10840-9 can be seen on the engine block and cylinder head, matching the number on the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate.

A workshop manual, owner’s handbook, and photo album from the refurbishment accompany the sale.

Finished in lovely Primrose over beige, this E-Type is a fine example through and through. According to the car’s Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, the car was built on 27 October 1966 and dispatched on 14 November to the US. There it was sold to its first owner, Mr. Dugan H. Pearce of Farmington, New Mexico, on 10 May 1967. The car is reported to have remained in the state for the subsequent four decades, whereupon it was later registered in the state of Oklahoma. The Jaguar subsequently benefitted from a thorough refurbishment between 2006 and 2010. The work included a repaint in its factory exterior color and a refresh of the interior, as well as installing new Dayton wire wheels and a replacement of the soft top. Soon after, the car was entered in the Texas Hill Country Rally and Bluebonnet Festival. Notably, the car was awarded Best in Class at the inaugural Santa Fe concours.
