Thanks for registering your car. However I removed the body number and engine number entries as they were not correct. Please see the data plate mounted low on the side of the firewall for the correct numbers. If you have any questions about where to find all of the numbers please feel free to drop me a note.

I own a '65 Series 1 4.2 OTS LHD chassis number in the high 800's with an early April '65 build date, originally supplied to Guernsey (UK Channel Islands) as a 'personal export', used in Holland for 18 months and then taken to Portland, Oregon by the original owner. Bought by me about 18 years ago as a one owner car and now back in the UK. The body and engine numbers on my car 1E108XX and this car 1E1205 are only one digit apart, though the gearbox numbers are about 35 apart. It is interesting to see the production sequencing....these two cars must have been pretty close to each other going down the production line. There must have been a huge raft of LHD cars going down the line interspersed by RHD cars. Judging by the above chassis numbers, in the time that Jaguar built almost 900 LHD OTS they built just over 200 RHD OTS, a proportion that seems run throughout E Type production. Interestingly if obvious, if you add my chassis number 1E108XX to that of 1E1205, (8XX+205), you end up with about 1100 chassis numbers built. This corresponds directly with the body numbers on both cars 4E21XX on mine and 4E2102 on the above, being about the 1100th bodies built, taking it that the first body was number 4E1001.
