1964 Jaguar XKE convertible. The car is in pieces as you can see by the pictures. It looks as though someone tried to restore the car at one point in time and didnt get very far. I have the following pieces that are not on the car: 2 doors, bonet (hood), convertible top (funtional), uncracked windshield with wipers and mounting hardware, spare tire, tire change kit w/ jack, chrome moldings, various trim pieces and rubber moldings, nuts and bolts, mounts, luggage rack, the list goes on............

The engine ran before the car was put into storage. It has 3 carbs on it and from what i know is said to be the most powerful engine packages. The entire drivetrain is in tact (independent rear suspension) and hooked up. The fuel cell appears to be in great shape. The radiator has some fins pushed sideways in a small area but looks great otherwise. All suspension parts are on the car and appear to move freely. Trunk lid release works. The dash looks great to me. The gauges are clean and dont show signs of corrosion or dirt on the inside of them. The toggles on the dash move freely and I would assume they work just fine. The doors are in great shpae as you can see by the pics. The bonet shows some severe damage to the left side. The glass headlight cover is undamaged on the right side.

This car has been sitting at my place for four years. It shows signs of mother nature on it. This would make a great project car. These cars are worth a lot of money restored. I personally do not have the time nor patience to put the man hours in to restore it to top notch standards. There are some very good parts on the car including the engine, trans. and rear end. I hate to get rid of this and it's ashame that I am not restoring it but I hope that someone can either restore it to its original state. This car would also make a great road race car. These early year XKE's are said to be the fastest and best handling.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
