This 1965 Jaguar XKE is a Series I roadster that was acquired in 2016 by the seller, who reports that it was owned for more than 32 years by its previous owner in Ontario, Canada, and its 4.2L twin-cam inline-six was overhauled in 2016. Additional work under current ownership included servicing the triple SU carburetors, installing a PerTronix electronic ignition module and an aluminum radiator, and replacing the 15″ knock-off wire wheels, the master cylinder and booster for the four-wheel disc brakes, and the clutch and hydraulic components for the four-speed manual transmission. Refinished in red over black leather upholstery, this XKE now shows 94k miles and is offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, a service manual, service records, tire changing tools, a car cover, and a Washington title in the seller’s name.
The car was finished in Opalescent Dark Green from the factory, and the seller reports the body was refinished in Ferrari Rosso Corsa Red. Exterior elements include a replacement black soft top, headlight covers, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers with overriders. Treated corrosion is noted around the headlight buckets on the inside of the louvered hood.
Replacement 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with 205/70 Pirelli P4000 Super Touring tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard rear rotors. The backing plate on the left-front wheel was repaired in 2021, and the upper and lower control arms were replaced in May 2022 according to the seller.
The low-back bucket seats are upholstered in black leather, and the cabin is equipped with lap belts, a heater, a red shift knob, and an Alpine cassette stereo unit. An electrical switch mounted below the steering wheel activates a manual override for the radiator fan. Chrome door sill finishers and replacement door sill rubber were installed in 2021 by Silk Cat Automotive of North Vancouver, British Columbia, and a rattle in the left door was repaired.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with an inset clock, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are housed in the center stack above a row of toggle switches. The five-digit odometer shows just over 94k miles.
The seller notes that the 4.2L twin-cam inline-six was rebuilt and balanced in 2016 by BMC Motor Works of Vancouver, British Columbia, and a portion of the estimate for the work is shown below along with a 2017 service record for balanced engine components from High Performance Engines of Burnaby, British Columbia. Equipment includes a PerTronix electronic ignition module, an upgraded aluminum radiator, a high-output alternator, and air horns. Wiring between the alternator and battery was replaced in 2021.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission, and the clutch disc, master cylinder, slave cylinder, and pressure plate were replaced under current ownership.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists factory colors and identification numbers as well as a completion date of April 2, 1965. A 1965 repair manual, car cover, tire changing tools, and recent service records also accompany the car. The current title carries an Antique brand notation.
