    I purchased this E-Type May 14,
1970. The E-Type was Yellow at
that time and I later had it painted Silver. This E-Type was featured in Road & Track Magazine in the September 74 Issue "FUN ON A BUDGET: BUYING A USED JAGUAR E-TYPE" pp 57-60.
Currently this car is in a "work in
    progress" for complete refitting
    and painting.

This 1965 Jaguar XKE Series I roadster was purchased by the owner’s late husband in 1970, and has been refurbished multiple times in the years since. It was featured in a 1974 issue of Road & Track magazine, which is included in the sale. The latest refurbishment was completed in 2024 and included a repaint in black as well as the installation of a black soft top and black leather upholstery. Power is provided by a replacement 4.2-liter inline-six linked to a T5 five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car is equipped with a black soft top boot, enclosed headlights, 15″ wire-spoke steel wheels, power-assisted disc brakes, dual side mirrors, triple windshield wipers, and a heater. This XKE roadster is now offered at no reserve on behalf of the owner with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, and a clean California title in the owner’s name.

The car was delivered in Opalescent Dark Maroon and repainted silver previously, after which it was was featured in the September 1974 issue of Road & Track. A copy of the article is included in the sale along with the blue California plates the car was wearing.

It was refinished in black during the recent refurbishment. Additional equipment includes a black Stayfast canvas soft top and top boot as well as enclosed headlights, a louvered clamshell hood, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, dual side mirrors, triple windshield wipers, and dual exhaust outlets.

The replacement 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-off hubs and are mounted with 195/65 Kumho Ecsta tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.

A black interior kit was installed, including leather covering the seats and center console. A new wiring harness was also installed during the refurbishment.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 32k miles. Total mileage is unknown.

The 4.2-liter inline-six is a replacement unit equipped with triple SU carburetors. Aftermarket fan have been installed.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Tremec T5 five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

The reproduction chassis plate shows chassis and body numbers as well as engine and gearbox stampings that match the powertrain currently installed in the car.
